Recently back from a brief visit to Castlerigg Stone Circle, Long Meg and Mayburgh Henge up in Cumbria.
I am fortunate to live within around 100 miles or so of

Castlerigg Stone Circle

near Keswick in the Lake District, I travel that direction as often as is possible to visit these beautiful Ancient Monuments.

Castlerigg

must be one of the most well known stone circles in Cumbria, always lots of tourists and visitors here most times that I have visited.

Long Meg Stone Circle

was as beautiful as ever, with only one or two other people around at the time,  Mayburgh Henge was deserted apart from myself and a friend who  had travelled to the Lake District with me for a few days camping and to visit these amazing megaliths.
